01 Aug Inward Investment
Makes Sense were approached by a US IT company, based in Silicon Valley who wanted to expand into the UK market and have a small sales team in the country.
For a while, they had been attracting and looking after their UK customers from the US now they were looking to upscale their UK operations they had to find a new way of working.
Recently they won investment from a Venture Capitalist and a condition of the deal was to establish a presence in the UK.
Without any knowledge of UK Employment, Legal & HR legislation, it was going to be a nightmare to manage a sales team from their HQ in the USA. Whilst doing their research, one of their contacts recommended that they speak to Tim Hammond, Director at Makes Sense Accountants.
Tim established regular communications with the US client to determine and understand their exact needs before offering a tailored comprehensive solution, which the client accepted.
We incorporated a UK company and were appointed as the local director enabling us to take care of all the UK legal paperwork and even open up a bank account for them. This means they don’t have to come to the UK, unless they want to or business means that they must. We took care of all company registrations including payroll, VAT, taxes & insurances.
Makes Sense Accountants now acts as the outsourced Accounts, HR & Legal Departments providing the following solutions for our US based client;
- Bank reconciliation
- VAT preparation & returns (if applicable)
- End of year accounts and corporation tax return.
- Issuing legally compliant employment contracts, employee handbooks,
- HR documents, templates, review meetings
- Employee timesheet and administration portal
- Unlimited HR and Legal Advice Helpline
Accounts are now run using online accounting software and the client has access to a portal. This means that our client has real time information, from any device with internet access, from anywhere in the world between different time-zones
Our client stated that they were;
“Amazed with how easy and quickly this arrangement was setup. In the US this type of arrangement is called ASO (Administrative Services Organization) and is starting to catch on around the world. It is rare to find a company outside the US that truly understands ASO but Tim from Makes Sense Accountants does and his knowledge and delivery is second to none. From inception to delivery to everyday Business as Usual; Makes Sense Accountants makes your UK operations easy.
Rather than having a headache like normally happens when expanding into unknown territories, Makes Sense Accountants made it a please and really easy.”
